Take a Look Inside Disney's Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge Park

On Christmas Day, Disney Parks gave Star Wars fans the best possible present by releasing a new trailer for its forthcoming Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge amusement park. As Engadget reports, the amusement park will be opening at Disneyland in Anaheim, California in summer 2019 and at Disney World in Orlando, Florida in the fall.
The trailer, which was uploaded to YouTube, offers a glimpse of two of the main attractions. Guests will have the chance to pilot the "the fastest ship in the galaxy" on a simulator ride called "Millennium Falcon: Smuggler's Run," according to Scott Trowbridge, creative executive of Walt Disney Imagineering.
And that's just the warm-up. "Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance" will be "the biggest and most immersive Disney Parks attraction ever," according to Disney Parks. Details are still scant, but the company revealed that riders will be pitted against the First Order and will even come face to face with Kylo Ren.
The trailer also lets you hear part of John Williams's new score, which was written specifically for the ride. Visitors to the park will find themselves on the Planet Batuu in a village called Black Spire, which is a remote trading outpost in the middle of a forest, according to The Verge.
"It will be jaw-dropping and incredibly emotional to walk into the land for the first time to actually be standing there amongst the buildings, amongst the ships, and have this feeling that it is all real that has been brought to life and it is right there in front of you," Carrie Beck, vice president of the Lucasfilm Story Group, said of Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge. "It's overwhelming."
